Increase your response rates with personalized offers.

By Alan Sharpe

People like to receive personalized gifts, gifts that are for them alone. We love to receive gifts that have our names printed on them.

One way to increase your response rate in business-to-business direct mail is to personalize your offer. Perhaps you are offering an executive day planner in return for a sales meeting with a prospect. So personalize the day planner by engraving the prospect's name in gold letters. See if offering an engraved day planner pulls a better response than offering one that is not personalized. Or offer an executive desk clock that is personalized with the business owner's company name.

Another way to personalize your B2B offers is to attract prospects to a personalized space on your website, where you speak to them by name, address their business challenges in particular, and deliver information, and offer products and services, that are relevant and useful to your prospect's unique situation.

The more personalized and relevant you can make your direct mail offers, the higher your response rates will be.
